One of my favourite things to do is a host a birthday party, fundraising event or even a bachelor night with the girls. The excitement of seeing my guests enjoying every detail of the event makes all the work worthwhile. I believe if you are going to host a party, you have to do it right to ensure your guests have the best time. There must be lots of food, drinks and games for your guests to indulge in.
When my best friend asked me to be in her wedding party, I was so excited and could not wait to host a shower for her. Not only is she my best friend but she was marrying my cousin, so it made it that much more exciting. This past March, days before this crazy thing called Covid-19 happened, I hosted a shower for her with some of our closest friends and my side of the family. It was such a beautiful day filled with love, games and lots of yummy food.
Weddings can be expensive, and often we stress over how much money goes into the pre-wedding events, like showers and bachelorette parties leading up to the big day. Creating the perfect bridal shower can feel like a lot of pressure but you can easily pull it off with items that you already have in and around your home. I turned into the DYI queen after pulling off this shower. I was able to save money by using old mason jars as vases for the flowers and turning an old mirror into a chalkboard for signage. I was able to use existing serving trays, charcuterie boards, and glassware when putting together the food and beverage displays. I also made my own homemade lavender bath bombs to give to the guests as a thank you for attending the bridal shower. (I will post the recipe at the end )
I hope you enjoyed hearing a little bit about what my budget friendly bridal shower. If you are planning a shower in the future, just remember the bride will always appreciate you no matter what you do. Have fun with it!
